An Insider’s Guide to Multi Level Marketing

If you do an Internet search for “multi level marketing” today, your search will yield thousands of results. Many of these links will lead to articles by “real pros” telling you everything you need to know about multi level marketing to achieve unparalleled success and unfailing power in the industry. If you were born before yesterday, you know much of what you find about multi level marketing isn’t legitimate and can even be a scam.

So, what is a newcomer to the multi level marketing world to do? First, you need to understand that much of what you read about multi level marketing is neither completely fabricated nor the gospel truth. Because of the complicated network on which it’s built, multi level marketing is unlike any other type of sales business.

According to the Direct Seller’s Association, 95% of multi level marketers fail. You read that correctly. However, they don’t tell you the reasons WHY so many fail when they join a multi level marketing venture. There is serious wealth to be gained by those with the chops to succeed, but too many quit before they have the right weapons in their multi level marketing arsenal.

Following are 10 “dos” and “don’ts” for multi level marketing success the 95% mentioned above didn’t know:

1. Do NOT align yourself with any multi level marketing organization selling an “intangible.” If there is no useful product provided to the end user, move on.
2. Do find as many FREE online training resources as possible to learn the ins and outs of multi level marketing. From technology to technique, there are many online resources for multi level marketers.
3. Do NOT spend thousands to become an “exclusive” distributor of any multi level marketing organization’s products. There are no exclusive distributorships. It goes against the very model of multi level marketing.
4. Do NOT agree to a compensation plan that only pays commissions for the new distributors you bring on in your multi level marketing program. You want to be compensated for your sales and the distributors you bring on board AND get a cut of their multi level marketing sales.
5. Do choose a product segment in a growing industry. Skip the “great” real estate multi level marketing schemes. Choose something like healthcare, fitness, or beauty for optimal multi level marketing success.
6. Do NOT take anything at face value or believe everything you read regarding multi level marketing. If an opportunity seems too good to be true, it is.
7. Do talk with others about multi level marketing. The best multi level marketers have no problem sharing insider tips with “newbies.”
8. Do constantly nurture your network by talking to everyone you can. People in multi level marketing often “hit up” their family and friends but don’t look anywhere else.
9. Do understand that, like any other business venture, you will have ups and downs in multi level marketing. Most new businesses go belly up because someone got impatient.
10. Do NOT ever think you are not worthy of great things or great wealth as you work toward your multi level marketing goals.

Multi level marketing is rife with less-than-scrupulous individuals certain they can “put one over” on their next “victim.” However, when you look more closely at some of the top MLM organizations, you begin to see companies offering quality products at great prices. By aligning with legitimate multi level marketing opportunities, you will find yourself poised for success.
