MLM by Email: A New Approach to an Old Business

Now there’s a way to reach out and touch MLM prospects that costs little yet saves you time… and the pain of rejection. Just press the “send” button on your email message.

Marketing your MLM through email is very similar to direct mail. You send your message to potential prospects and those who are interested respond. The ace in the hole for MLM is that everyone looks at their email – at least, at the sender and subject line. It’s so easy to click and open email, if only to see if it may be something of interest.

Your job as an MLM business owner is to learn how to use email to your best advantage. Here’s how to use MLM email marketing to grow your business:

Targeting MLM Prospects

When spending time and money to market your MLM business through email, make sure you target those people who would be most interested in an MLM business. Take a look at the demographics of the email list you use to get an idea. For instance, college freshmen are probably not good MLM prospects, but ages 25 to 54 are.

Get Their Attention, Right from the Start

The subject line is most important. This is what makes people decide to open the email or scroll down to preview it. Present your MLM business in a straightforward yet enticing way, as in “A Legitimate Way to Achieve Financial Freedom With Your Own MLM Home-Based Business.” The word “legitimate” may not be exciting, but with so much spam floating around, a well-grounded word will give weight to your MLM business opportunity appeal.

Sell the Sizzle

It’s not MLM itself that is so attractive, it’s what it can do for you. MLM can bring you financial success, a secure future, and a job where you can’t get fired. Make sure your message focuses on what MLM can do for the reader, not the finer points of MLM itself.

MLM by Any Other Name

Some people may be averse to the MLM moniker. MLM is really just direct selling with a kicker based on the performance of those you bring into the organization, and direct selling is a noble profession with a long history of success. Network marketing is a new term used for MLM, which is more appropriate when you think about it, as the success of MLM is often based on an individual’s ability to network.

A Professional Design

The success of your MLM email efforts is in large part dependant on how professionally your campaign is designed. Have you ever gotten emails with spacing problems? Or just text, no graphics? Contrast that with a well-designed email with color and photos, designed in html. Which type of email will give a better impression of your MLM business?

Closing the Deal

Closing the deal via MLM email marketing means capturing the prospect’s information. A well-written and well-designed website can do the job of selling the MLM opportunity for some people. If not, your goal is to accumulate a pool of warm (to hot) leads that you can follow up on.

Capture their information with a free offer, such as “special secrets” on your MLM opportunity or a newsletter with tips on prospering in an economic downturn through MLM. Once you have contact information, you can continue to be in touch with prospects as they move closer to joining in on your MLM opportunity.

MLM email marketing opens the door for you. Make sure you follow up and nurture prospects through a mixture of email, phone calls, video conferences, and in-person meetings whenever possible. Building relationships builds your MLM business.
